Farm Much??

As most of you already know, we are not farmers. I have never had the desire to be a farmer, live on a farm, or be a farmer's wife. Not that there's anything wrong with the farming life, I'm just a city girl at heart.

Noah, on the other hand, is fascinated with all things farm related. Monday, we walked into the local Cresent Department Store, and this is what he saw:

I thought he'd almost wet his pants. He couldn't focus on anything other than these boots. Nevermind the fact that they're green, bright kelly green. He couldn't be persuaded to like the camo version. I absolutely abhor camo, but in this situation, it would be the better of the two boots.

Long story short, we bribed him by telling him "you'll have to ask Mimi & Papa to get you some boots," like the good parents we are. I have a feeling that someone in our house will end of with some new boots soon.......

In the Spirit of the Olympics..

A friend sent this to me, and I got a good laugh. Some are a bit risque, but not too bad. I guess a little self-censoring or better yet, thinking before you speak is in order for these commentators!

Here are the top nine comments made by NBC sports commentators so far during the Summer Olympics that they would like to take back:

1. Dressage commentator: 'This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother.'

2. Paul Hamm, Gymnast: 'I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father.'

3. Boxing Analyst: 'Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of them really that serious.'

4. Softball announcer: 'If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again.'

5. Basketball analyst: 'He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can see it all over their faces.'

6. At the rowing medal ceremony: 'Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew.'

7. Soccer commentator: 'Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field.'

8. Tennis commentator: 'One of the reasons Andy is playing so well is that, before the final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them... Oh my God, what have I just said?'

9. Weightlifting commentator: 'This is Gregorieva from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning during her warm up and it was amazing.'

Just thought I'd add a little random humor to your day. Enjoy!!

Nothing much...

I posted some new pics of the tile in the new house. The backsplash in the kitchen is all done, minus the grout. The tile guy is a bit slow, but is meticulous in his work, so I'll have to be patient. It isn't looking to me like we'll get to move next weekned, rather the weekend after, but at this point what's one more day/week??

I'm exhausted, work was busy today. Let me re-phrase that, I was busy at work today. Some days it's just hard to get it all together. Today was one of those days for me.

The girls are gone to the county fair w/friends tonight. Only Noah is at home. Why is it that no one ever wants to take him?? Maybe I'll have some tea, better yet a long island iced tea, and hit the sack early. Boy, that sounds like a good idea. I think I'll go do that.....have a nice weekend all.

Karen needs.....

I'm going to borrow this one from Scraptacular who borrowed it from a friend of hers. Go to Google and enter "your name" needs and see what you get. Here are some of the first ones that popped up for "Karen needs." Some I agree with, some ???

1. Karen needs a website-tomorrow.
2. Karen needs help- gay marriage in California.
3. Karen needs some gin.
4. Karen needs more CS training.
5. Karen needs a vocalist (so true)
6. Karen needs feedback.
7. Karen needs a new job.
8. Karen needs a lobotomy fund!! (probably so!)
9. Karen needs some ideas for a recipe.
10. Karen needs to get her a*$ off the ground and actually do some work. (I like this one!!)

Anyway, just thought I'd post a little random funniness. Enjoy!!

House Update

The house is sloooooooowly coming along. The granite went in yesterday. The electrician should be completely finished tomorrow. The tile man is working on the master shower, then the backsplash. Next the plumber will come in. The wood floors come next. They have to be handscraped, then stained and sealed. Lastly, the dirt work outside will be done along w/the sidewalks. Hopefully, we'll be able to move over Labor Day weekend. I posted a slideshow w/the newest pics. Enjoy the pics...

I think I'll give this a try....

Bear with me here you guys. I'm tired of all of the advertisement, etc. on myspace, so I'm going to give this blog thing a try. It'll take me some time to get it up and looking good, as I'll be self-taught. Don't be too tough on me!! If you have any random tips/words of wisdom to make it look decent, don't hesitate to pass them on. Until then, just bear with me!!
